Jobs for the Girls Campaign

Although women represent at least 50% of the UK workforce, they are severely under-represented in most trade professions. Recent figures indicate that less than one in every thousand electrical contractors is female.

NICEIC aims to highlight the exciting opportunities available to women in the electrical industry. It is also hoping to recruit more young women to its recently launched Apprentice Academy.

In October, CEO Emma Clancy joined Dragons’ Den star Hilary Devey on the TV and radio to promote NICEIC’s Jobs for the Girls campaign.

The duo took part in a series of interviews to push the campaign which encourages more women into the electrical contracting industry.

With the radio stint completed Emma then appeared live on Sky News with NICEIC registered contractor Eleanor Bell to discuss the campaign and the opportunities a career as an electrician can offer.
