ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The Electrical Apprentice of the Year Competition measures the technical skills of electrical students across the UK. The competition consists of three stages.
 

STAGE 1

The first stage is an online exam open to all students comprising of 40 questions relating to electrical installations.
 

STAGE 2

The second stage sees the top performing 20% from stage one take part in a written 2 hour exam held at several locations across the UK.
 

STAGE 3

The final takes place at the headquarters of the competition partner, The Scolmore Group, where the eight finalists complete several practical test and tasks under the watchful eyes of our judges.
 

The winner of The Electrical Apprentice of the Year will be announced at a special awards ceremony that evening.

Any electrical apprentice can enter, however the competition is aimed at those students completing their Level 3 Framework. All questions, assessments and quizzes associated with this competition will be aimed at those students coming towards the end of their studies or those that have just completed their Level 3 electrical Apprenticeship.

All eight finalists will receive an iPad, with a £2,000 holiday voucher being awarded to the overall winner. There are also two runners up prizes of a £750 holiday voucher and a £250 holiday voucher.

Each finalist will also receive a Scolmore Van Pack, an engraved trophy and an NICEIC and ELECSA Goody Bag.

The employer of the winning apprentice will also win one year’s free registration with NICEIC or ELECSA*

There will also be smaller prizes throughout each stage of the competition.
