Assessment Information: New Building Regulations and Standards has forced air tight housing which has in turn driven a requirement for controlled ventilation systems.  If these systems are installed correctly they reduce energy consumption and produce very healthy environment but if these systems are not installed correctly they reduce energy consumption but lead to a very poor unhealthy environment and Builders are concerned about the poor installation practices and the associated problems.
 
By the end of this course you will:
  • Know the main system types and their requirements
  • Understand the importance of the relevant guidance documents
  • Understand the commissioning processes

  • Regulations/standards and background
  • Key terminology
  • Ventilation systems
  • Selecting, sizing and positioning of components
  • Implications of installing ventilation systems where combustion  appliances exist
  • Preparatory work required before installation
  • Installation requirements
  • Location of continuous systems
  • Condensation
  • Commissioning of natural ventilation systems
  • Commissioning of continuous ventilation systems
  • Inspect, test and commissioning (practical)
  • Documentation
