Government launches Green Deal
Green Deal, the Government’s flagship initiative to tackle energy efficiency has been launched.
The scheme will provide an incentive for householders and businesses to install energy efficient measures by off-setting the cost through savings in energy bills. It is designed to make energy efficiency easy and affordable with aims to reach up to 14 million properties by 2020.
The government is committed to ensuring that all work undertaken via Green Deal is carried out by registered firms. NICEIC offers certification to any firm wishing to become a Green Deal installer or Advisor.
Compliance to the standard is a requirement for all those businesses wanting to get involved in Green Deal even if they are already certified to another government scheme or register. For organisations that are familiar with the requirements of the Microgeneration Certificate Scheme (MCS), this should be familiar territory.
