This module provides an understanding of the commissioning process of fire detection and fire alarms systems to BS 5839-1:2013. And be able to commission installations for non domestic premises. This module is designed to meet the knowledge requirements of the relevant standards of the BAFE Scheme. Prior to joining the commissioning module you must have completed the Unit 1 that covers the fundamentals of Fire Detection & Fire Alarm Systems BS 5839-1.

Candidates should be familiar with the operation of Fire Alarm systems. Suitable candidates should already work within the electrical or fire alarm industry and have a basic understanding of the requirements of fire alarms in the UK.

Candidiates must have first completed the Understanding of Fire Alarm Design and Certification to BS5839 Part 1&6 Modular Course Unit 1 - Fundamentals.

The learner will obtain an understanding of the commissioning process, for non domestic premises, of fire detection and fire alarms systems to section 5 of BS 5839-1:2013.

Building on the knowledge gained from unit 1 learners will gain sufficient knowledge to have greater understanding of how to commission fire detection and fire alarm systems to BS 5839-1:2013 by using design criteria, drawings and culminating in the production of a commissioning certificating.
