Biomass Assessment

Leading certification body NICEIC can now offer a new competency qualification for installers of Biomass Systems.

The assessment has been mapped against the relevant National Occupational Standards (NOS) and has been approved by SummitSkills the Sector Skills Council for the building services engineering sector.
The course is designed for people who are competent to work on fuel burning appliances such as oil and gas. The aim of the training and assessment package is to assess installers against set criteria which are formed from the relevant NOS for the installation of Biomass systems.
 
Learners will be able to:
 
  • Understand core solid fuel safety principles within domestic building services engineering
  • Apply core solid fuel safety within domestic building services engineering
  • Understand the installation and commissioning principles of biomass fuel burning appliances
  • Install, test and commission domestic biomass fuel burning appliances
  • Understand the service and maintenance principles of biomass fuel burning appliances
  • Service and maintain domestic biomass fuel burning appliances
 The training and assessment program runs over four days and the assessment comprises of theory and practical components.
