NICEIC AND ELECSA WEBINAR HITS THE SPOT AND PROVIDES MUCH NEEDED GUIDANCE TO SMALL BUSINESSES AND THE SELF EMPLOYED

08/04/2020

On Tuesday 7th April, Darren Staniforth from NICEIC & ELECSA hosted a webinar with external experts from the Federation of Small Businesses and the ECA, providing registered contractors with some advice and guidance on the Government Support available.

Yesterday (7 April) saw the NICEIC and ELECSA join forces with the Federation of Small Business and the Electrical Contracting Association to deliver an insightful industry webinar on the current support packages available to small businesses and the self-employed.

The session, which was hosted by Darren Staniforth, Senior Technical Presenter NICEIC & ELECSA, gave the industry the chance to pose questions to the expert panel which included Martin McTague, Policy and Advocacy Chairman, at the Federation of Small Businesses and Rob Driscoll, Director of Legal and Business, from the ECA.

Watched by over 1500 electrical contractors the event generated some fantastic discussions and provided much-needed clarity surrounding a range of topics.  These included the Government support available, how contractors can access it, the rules regarding furloughing and guidance around HMRC requirements.

“We are delighted with the response we have received on yesterday’s webinar” said NICEIC and ELECSA’s Darren Staniforth,

“As an organisation, we are committed to helping the industry navigate this challenging period, and we would like to thank our partners at Federation of Small Businesses and the ECA for taking the time to offer their expert guidance.

“We did our best to get through as many questions as possible in the time we had available but appreciate we did not get around to everyone.

“All outstanding questions have been sent to the FSB and ECA, and we will, of course, follow these up to ensure we get you the answers you need – please stay tuned for more news on this.”
