Online certification enhancements

Over the weekend (September 7/8) we will be deploying further upgrades to our online certification system.

This means Online Certification will be down from 7:30am Sunday morning (September 8)  for a couple of hours as we implement the following system enhancements:

Building Control Enhancements

The first upgrade will focus on building control notifications.

We have been working directly with LABC to provide some added value to you as a contractor when submitting a notification to the local building control.
  • We have enhanced the functionality of submitting a notification with intelligence from LABC utilising data from previously rejected notifications.
  • This will mean the Building Control Notification process will:
    • Highlight errors whilst editing the submission
    • Utilise national data from LABC to more accurately link post codes and the relevant local authority
    • Have an updated and enhanced look and feel
  • From the image below you will see a number on the “Notify “ Tab, this shows that there is a notification that requires attention
  • The enhanced system then allows you to edit previously submitted notifications to correct any errors

  • The new filter functionality then allows you to review all submitted Building Control Notifications, specifically:
    • In Progress – You have started but not completed the notification
    • Pending Submission – The notification is in the queue for automated submission
    • Submitted – The notification has been submitted successfully
    • Rejected Submission – The local authority has rejected the notification and provided feedback as to why
    • Awaiting Re-Submission – These are the rejected notifications that you need to edit and re-submit
    • Completed – Successful notifications to the Local Authority
  • We have also enhanced the Search Functionality which provides a quicker search as it shows completed notifications within the last 12 months
  • To access notifications older than 12 months, users must click on ”here” in the sentence below
The upgrades will take place in the early hours of Sunday morning to minimise disruption to users.

The upgrade is part of a concerted effort to improve user functionality and create a system that allows you to carry out certification and notification quicker and easier.

Please note: We would also like to remind users that any old design (17th Edition) draft Emergency Lighting Certificates need to be completed by 30th September 2019. You can still create new certificates (18th Edition) but any Emergency Lighting Certificates in the old design need to be completed by the cut off date or they will be lost.
