What will you learn?
All aspects relating to core domestic LPG gas safety. The initial knowledge area for this course is related to permanent dwellings (houses, flats etc), but additional areas such as leisure accommodation vehicles (caravans), residential park homes and boats can also be undertaken.
Who should attend?
All engineers currently qualified to work on natural gas fuelled installations who want to move into LPG fuelled installations and appliances.
The course programme
Day 1
■ Combustion (characteristics of LPG)
■ LPG supply (tanks and cylinder location and installation)
■ Pipework installation
■ Pipe sizing
■ LPG fuel storage
Day 2
■ LPG storage vessel and cylinder controls
■ Tightness testing and purging
■ Flues and ventilation
Benefits
Successful candidates will gain an understanding of the differences between liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas and will be able to work safely on both fuel types.
Next step
Candidates can move onto LPG specific assessments such as Permanent Dwellings (PD), Residential Park Homes (RPH) and Leisure Accommodation Vehicles (LAV). Other related appliances such as REFLP1, WATLP1, HTRLP2 and HTRLP3.
