Apprentice Competition Enters Final Stages
Eight finalists have been chosen to go through to the final stage of the NICEIC and ELECSA 2018 Apprentice of the Year competition.
The final group will battle it out over a series of practical tests at the headquarters of competition sponsor Scolmore on June 5. The winner will be announced that evening during a ceremony at The Belfry Golf Course and Hotel.
More than 600 students  applied to take part in this year’s competition, which recognises the talents of the brightest electrical apprentices in the UK.
Stage 1 - An online exam comprising of a variety of questions relating to electrical installations
Stage 2 – A two hour written exam
The finalists will now move on to the final stage which will see each of them completing technical challenges, along with a short interview with industry experts, Tony Cable, Darren Staniforth and Jake Green.
The eight competitors will receive an iPad as a gift for making it to the final stage and will go on to be in the chance of receiving a host of other prizes including a £2000 holiday voucher for the winner, a £750 holiday voucher for the runner up and £250 for third place.
