Pricing for gas assessment is based on half day units. Contact us to discuss your particular needs.


Work Areas:

  • CCN1 - domestic core gas safety, note that this is a pre-requisite for all domestic gas appliances modules
  • CENWAT - installation & servicing of wet central heating appliances & water heaters
  • CKR1 - installation & servicing of gas cookers
  • DAH1 - installation & servicing of domestic air heaters
  • HTR1 - installation & servicing of gas fires & space heaters
  • LAU1 - installation & servicing of laundry appliances
  • LEI1 - installation & servicing of leisure appliances
  • MET1 - installation & servicing of domestic gas meters
  • CPA1 - flue gas analyser
  • CMDDA1 - domestic carbon monoxide/carbon dioxide atmosphere sampling
This course is suitable for engineers who have the necessary qualifications to be admitted onto the ACS Scheme. Run by the Strategic Management Board for the industry, successful completion of this course will enable an engineer to register with Gas Safe.
 
Engineers are classified into 2 categories:

  • Category 1 –   Experienced practicing gas fitting operative
  • Category 2 –   Applicant with relevant mechanical engineering/fitting qualifications/experience
 
Note:   Successful completion of the Core Domestic Gas Safety qualification is a pre-requisite before gas engineers can undertake additional assessment on natural gas fuelled installations and appliances.
You will learn all aspects of gas safety relating to the installation, commissioning and servicing of the domestic gas appliances.

Core Domestic Gas
  • gas safety regulations Building Regulations, British Standards and other related legislation
  • unsafe situations and emergency actions
  • gas pipework (including sizing, installation, defects and faults)
  • tightness testing and purging (covers both low pressure and medium pressure installations)
  • checking meter regulator emergency control valves
  • appliance burner pressures and gas rates
  • flues and ventilation
  • combustion
  • combustion performance analysis (flue gas testing)
  • appliance control

Domestic Gas Appliances
  • gas safety regulations Building Regulations, British Standards and other related legislation
  • unsafe situations and emergency actions
  • gas pipework (specific to appliance category)
  • flues and ventilation (specific to appliance category)
  • combustion (specific to appliance category)
  • combustion performance analysis (flue gas testing)
  • appliance controls (specific to appliance category)
  • commissioning, service, maintenance and basic gas safety related fault finding
On the day of training, you will also need to bring with you:

  • 2x passport sized photographs
  • Original copies of expired/expiring ACS qualifications
  • Note taking material (recording devices not allowed)
  • A calculator (not part of a smart phone application) which we can provide you with on the day.
