Certification NICEIC Certification will issue a Certificate of Competence to learners who successfully attain the required standard of assessment.

Assessment Information: The Solar Thermal Hot Water package has been developed and revised for use with the requirements of the National Occupational Standard Assessment Programme for individuals who wish to demonstrate competence in this particular field.
 
Successful candidates will be able to use the award to apply to join an MCS Installer Scheme and with the modular format of assessments available, may be able to ‘bolt on’ additional units to increase the scope of work they cover.

·       Maintenance
·       Design training
Pre- requisites: Stand alone Vocationally Related Qualifications (technical certificates) are not acceptable as an alternative to the NVQ awards listed below.
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing Domestic Industrial and Commercial Heating and Ventilating or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Oil-Fired Technical Services or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
In addition, if not included in the above, current certification in relation to:
  • Water Regulations/Water Byelaws
  • Unvented Domestic  Hot Water Storage Systems
  • Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating
  • Health and Safety competence in CoSHH, Working at Height and Manual Handling
